Week 5 and 6

 Lecture

Overview

Medical Data, Processing, E-Prescribing and PACS

Medical Data is the gathering of medical data and interpreting their meaning is central to providing healthcare to patients.
Processing  can only be done by humans as computers can only process the data and serve and complement humans beings but not replace them.
E-Prescribing aims to replace paper-based prescriptions scripts so that their is an improvement in patient safety by reducing prescibing and administration errors.
PACS are computers, commonly servers, dedicated to the storage, retrieval, distribution and presentation of images.
